The short version: we collect what we need to run the Society, we use it for that, and we never sell it.

The Audacity Society is run by Nikki Ramirez and Aparna Boehm through The Audacity Society LLC. When this policy says "we" or "us," that is who it means. Questions go to [email protected].
When you apply, join, or sign up for anything from us, we collect what you give us:
We also collect the basic stuff every website does, like which pages you visit, your device and browser, and whether you opened our emails. That comes from cookies and similar tools built into the platforms we use.
We read every application ourselves. We do not use your answers for anything other than deciding on your seat and getting to know you once you are in.
We do not sell your information. Ever. We only share it with the tools that run the Society, and only what they need:
We will also share information if the law requires it.
What you post in the community can be seen by other members. Everyone agrees to our Society guidelines, which say what is shared in the room stays in the room. We take that seriously, but we cannot control what another person does, so share what you are comfortable sharing.
We keep your information while you are a member or while your application is open, and for a reasonable time after, so we can handle renewals, questions, and our records. If you want it deleted sooner, email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under your state or country's privacy laws. Email us and we will honor them.
The Society is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If it is a big change, we will email members.
